Dean was born and raised in Michigan with an Italian mother that inspired him to cook. He got his start at a steakhouse, The King & I, in Swartz Creek, Michigan and realized he was going to make it a career as a chef. Dean moved to West Palm Beach in 1995 to be the Sous Chef at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club and later became Executive Chef at Binks Forest Country Club. In 2002, Dean moved to Key West, FL where he worked at Blue Heaven and Pepe’s Cafe. In January of 2016 Chef Dean became the Executive Chef at Charlie Mac’s. He is happy to call Key West his home and he continues to elevate the best BBQ offering in the Keys.
